Hi, I'm Molly Murphy and I am a junior at Olathe Northwest High School. I am thoroughly involved in my school's E-COMM program. My strand is basically convergence journalism, which leads me to the purpose of my blog. You see, all through the week I watch different TV shows each day (minus friday and saturday and sunday) and they are all very dear to my heart, and all I've been watching from the beginning. Lucky for you, all my shows just started. I'll give you a run down.
Monday- How I Met Your Mother
Tuesday- New Girl
Wednesday-Modern Family
Thursday-Glee
Most of these shows are pretty well known but just in case you've been living under a rock these past few years I'll give you a brief summary of all of them.
How I Met Your Mother- First things first, from now on this show will be abbreviated into HIMYM just for time purposes. In HIMYM, the five main characters consist of architect Mosby (the narrator), and his two best friends from college, teacher Lily Aldrin and lawyer Marshall Erikson, who happened to get married in the 2nd season and have their first child by the 7th. The other main characters include Barney Stinson, a troubled promiscuous womanizer who provides most of the catchphrases for the show. The last main character is TV reporter Robin Scherbatsky who has dated both Ted(1st and 2nd season) and Barney(5th season). The whole premise of the show is Ted Mosby telling his children the crazy and twisted tale of how he met their mother, and so far we've yet to truly see her. We do know that Ted meets her at what the show eludes to be Barney and Robin's wedding.
Ted Mosby- Josh Randor
Lily Aldrin- Alyson Hannigon
Marshall Erickson- Jason Segal
Robin Scherbatsky- Colbie Smulders
Barney Stinson- Neil Patrick Harris
New Girl- This is a fairly new show that has only just passed its 1st season. Main character Jess Day, who was recently dumped, moves in with 3 very different and eccentric men; Nick Miller, Schmidt, and Winston Bishop, who all react variously to Jess's quirky and zany attitude. We see each character go through a love interest, but the most shocking would have to be Jess's best friend CeCe and very egocentric Schmidt.
Jess Day- Zooey Deschanel
Nick Miller- Jake Johnson
Schmidt- Max Greenfield
Winston Bishop- Lamorne Morris
CeCe- Hannah Simone
Modern Family- This show consists of one family with very different lifestyles. We have Jay Pritchett and his much younger wife Gloria and her son Manny Delgado. On the very end of the last season we find out that Gloria is pregnant even thought Jay is well into his 60's. Jay's other children from his previous marriage react very differently. Jay's daughter Claire Dunphy is married to a very childish Phil Dunphy and have three children, Haley, Alex and Luke and they are very excited for the new arrival. Jay's other son Mitchell Pritchett and his long term partner Cameron Tucker who share one adopted daughter Lily just tried adopted again and were unsuccessful, so they weren't too pleased. But all in all they are a very loving family.
Jay Pritchett- Ed O'Neil
Gloria- Sofia Vergara
Manny Delgado- Rico Rodriguez
Claire Dunphy- Julie Bowen
Phil- Ty Burrell
Haley- Sarah Hyland
Alex- Ariel Winter
Luke- Nolan Gould
Mitchell Pritchett- Jesse Ferguson
Cameron Tucker- Eric Stonestreet
Lily Tucker-Pritchett- Aubrey Anderson
Glee- Glee is into its fourth season and all the original kids have gone to college. The first set of Glee kids consisted of Rachael Berry, Finn Hudson, Kurt Hummel, Santana Lopez, Quinn Forbray, Mercedes Jones, Artie Abrams, Noah Puckerman, Brittany Pierce, and Mike Chang, all lead by Will Schuester and his fiance, by third season, Emma Pillsburry. Now there are too many wacky story lines to get into all of them but the main things you need to know is that Rachael and Finn were dating most of the series, and Quinn and Puck had a child together. Brittany and Santana were dating, as well and Tina and Mike. Kurt was dating new arrival Blaine Anderson and Mercedes dated new arrival Sam Evans for a while. They all dated each other basically but those are the groups that really lasted and meant something. All these names are too long to list so I'm linking you to IMDB if you'd like to see their real names.

Thank you so much for reading my blog and I will be writing another one today to summarize today's episode of HIMYM.
